I hope so, as that's what im about to install over Christmas ;)
Im told, the series 1 Rx7, 12a and manual 5 speed will fit right in, with off course the correct mounts and braces. Ive already pulled the tailshaft out, and it fits the manual box.

better off throwing a 13b in it.. will be slow with a 12a.. and its getting hard to find decent 12a's these days as you can no longer buy replacement housings.

you could put an early 13b (from an rx4/5) in it but I would suggest finding a later model 13b, like a s4/5 rx7 engine, you can change the front timing cover to suit the front mounting style (s4/5 rx7 engine are mounted from the side so their front cover doesn't have mounting positions to suit the rx5 mounts) there are many more parts available for these s4/5 motors.

you can then run the motor with factory injection/throttle body and aftermarked ECU or just bolt on a weber carby with manifold to suit.

options are endless and any number of combinations will fit by changing external bolt on bits..
