RX2 Picture Thread And Video :P

My first car. 1972 RX2. This was back in 1983.

The ONLY good thing about it was the engine. The car had taken serious damage before my (clueless) father bought if for me with my money. The entire right side and hood were from the wreckers - still had the numbers on them. Idler arm was like a banana. The right sub-frame was detached from the body. A plate of steel had been bolted there to fix the problem, but did not. It had a savage pull to the left. I cooked the clutch after having it for only 1000 miles, and took it in to get looked at. I was told the chassis was kaput at that time - beyond economic repair. The mechanic told me that when he tugged on the wheel, the whole sub-frame was pulling away from the body.
Shifty sales yard - shifty roadworthy via that sales yard. Car was actually sold to me as a private sale as it belonged to a mate of the sales yard owner. Brake and reverse lights were shorted together when I got it, so clearly it hadn't passed any roadworthy, despite the paperwork. I traded it in. It probably went straight back to a wrecking yard.

In hindsight, it looked suspiciously like a car that was involved in a fatal accident around the corner from where I lived a year or two before I bought it, and the damaged areas matched. That car had hit another at a crossroads, and gone over onto its driver's side. The driver had gone through the windscreen.

Does anyone know what size real wheels and tyres these two are running? They look ideal for what I have in mind.

I NEED a S1 coupe bonnet...Like asap...Gotta send my car in for a full restore and I just cant start without the bonnet. I am not spending a $ till I find a bonnet...

Good bonnets are hard to find. Coupe and sedan are the same even the capella coupes ran the rx2 bonnet. You know you can buy fibreglass ones now? Might be an option. Good luck.

Good luck with that... Rare as hens teeth.. although I heard that Australian muscle car parts maybe starting to remanufactor them ?? Not sure though ...I know they definitely got rx3 bonnets
