Hey guys i have a s7 1997 model jap import FD that has had a s6 engine fitted to it as old owner blew it up, now i am looking at fitting a power fc and i went on the Apexi site and they say the part number for 1997 should be 414BZ005 Mazda RX-7 FD3S (Ver. IV) 1996-1998 13B-REW but i am unsure what year model the engine is.
now how do i tell what computer i need and also how come ones in AUS dont have the same part number as i found a second hand one for sale and the guy said the part number is pfc fd3s4 020-2803 and the controller has part number fcc3 020-12617 and was fitted to a s6 1996 model.
So i want to know what one should i buy and how do i tell what model my engine is as i got no idea how to tell and owner didnt know.
Thanks guys

The ecu is different, for the S6 you need the 8-bit version, not the 16-bit version as used in the S8.

I have a Jap spec S7 and I'm running a PFC, I am taking delivery of it on Monday as it cleared customs and AQIS yesterday. I will check what the part number is on it and post it up here for you. Yours may have a S6 block in it but with Jap spec S7 loom, manifolds, vacuum box etc.

You could see by looking under the top half of the manifold and check if it has a vacuum box or the rats nest. Take some pictures of around the engine and under the top half of manifold and post them up here.
