It's ok guys dont panic #-o you don't need an engineers for a pod filter, you need to pass an emmisions test :gay:

Engineers cert will be required for things like engine swaps as in car that didn't come out with that engine, example LJ with a 350 etc

Superchargers, Turbos, Wheel Tubs.. thats about it..

OK, but this will mean I won't be able to run my 13B-T @ Calder as it is not engineered yet. Is there still going to be an event similar to the legal off-street drags where these rules are not applied?

Did your model car come out with a rotary ?

The street series is run in conjunction with the legal off street drags, so you can still run on the same day just not in the street series if your car doesnt pass street series rules.

The AMC / Calder Park are about to announce an Open Drag racing series as well.

Engineers isn't here or there, just don't run in the series competition  . I can see whay they have done it that way, as street trim causes all sorts of dramas with people.

I heard that PAC run an unoffical street class at WSID, car must be in complete street trim, no stripped out interior, steel panels, DOT tyres and rotors run a max 12psi and piston cars a max 24psi.

Ok here is a few updates and info to clear some of the questions up..

This series will be run in conjunction with the normal Legal Off Street Drag Meetings, so for those that do not want to compete or cars than do not meet the street series rules you can race as per normal in the LOSD

Engineers Certificate will be required

1. If the original engine the car came with has been replaced with bigger engine that was not an option on the model vehicle.
2. If the supercharger/s or turbocharger/s were not factory fitted or an option on that model.
3. If the rear chassis or rear wheel tubs have been altered in any way other than factory specifications.

That is all for the engineering side of things.

Tyres

Must be radials with tread! NO SLICKS
M/T ET Drag Radails are approved, so if you have any doubts they would be your best choice.

Other items that ARE approved

NOS - may be used but you must run in the blown class, even if you have only NOS lines fitted but no bottle, you still must run in the blown class.
Roll Cages - any vehicle running quicker than 11.00 MUST have an approved roll cage. Anyone can have a roll cage fitted as long as it has the required protective padding!
Wheels - no restrictions
Open Exhausts - no restrictions
Diff Changes - no restrictions other than chassis and wheel tub rules as above.
Transmission - no restrictions

All compeditor must meet the general Calder Park saftey regulations which you can find at the link below
http://www.calderpark.com.au/losd_regulations.shtml

Legal Off Street Drags & Sping/Summer Street Series Hours Of Racing will be

Saturdays

Gates open 10.00 am

5.30 pm to 6.00 pm - Dinner Break & Seeding
6.00 pm to 10.00pm Finals & Grudge Racing
Presentations 10.15 pm

Sundays

Gates open 10.00 am
10.00 am to 4.00 pm – Scutineering (approximately)
12.00 noon to 5.00 pm - Qualifying for street categories
12.00 noon to 5.30 pm - Legal Off Street Open Racing
5.30 pm to 6.00 pm - Dinner Break & Seeding

How can you ask for engineers reports when you can't get a cage engineered for road use but you are required to run a point one for if you are running quicker than 11.00. There for the car would not be a legaly engineered vechile.Yes you may have cert for the mods on the engine or driveline but i dont know any state that allows you to run a 6 point cage for street use legally :?

You can here in VIC. Have a read of this document, apparently you don't even need a certificate if it complies with all the measurements etc. listed and there is no modification to the vehicle structure, seats or seatbelts.

Tell that to a copper though
