top day, all cars come home in one piece, few mechanical problems. nothing major. car one has still to be sorted, brakes are erratic to say the least. one minute you got em the next you dont. need a test and tune to sort it out. front tyres got bit slippery. handles well and then the clutch blew. car 2 the battery reg died and was spiking voltage plus the accelerator cable slipped out of the weber twice then the exhaust rattled loose of the extractors. but a good day was had by all.
cheers

What an awesome day, thanks everybody! Great to see everyone safe at the end with no majors. My blinkers crapped out on the way home. That was all. Pics and vids to come, get 'em up peoples!

Some screenshots from "Marshmallow Cam", the movie with sound is ace.

Had a great day guys. A nice mix of rotors in the garage's with some 'hairy' moments out on the track, got a few snaps with all 6 cars in there. Great to meet the 'circuit' rotary guys, a whole different flavour to the street and strip scene, loved it equally as much.
Note: Shooting with that lens at full zoom on auto focus is an absolute bitch so alot of the pics were out of focus and the sun was a little timid today but theres an old saying about good tradesmen..............Enjoy the pics.
Thanks again guys.
Mark.

Was great to see so many Ausrotary people hitting the track! Too bad I had to leave early before I saw everyone have a crack.

I was driving along Centre Rd Saturday morning when a beast which i think was Car 62 drove past. I figured he was off to Sandown so I dropped in today to have a look on my way past.
I was parked up on the hill at the entry gate at Dandenong Rd. Nice mix of Mazda's out there.

The pops between shifts on Car 62 were pretty impressive. By far the best sounding car there.

Then there was a semi slide/lose from the little orange car heading down the hill towards Dandenong Rd. I think it was the ROT4RY plated car judging by the pics.

The little KE35/55 Corolla was also giving it a crack. Anyone know if that was running a 4AGE?

That red laser sounded like it was running on 3 Cylinders......10 points for commitment though:P

I've been wanting to do some track laps of a non serious competitive nature. So much so i googled the car club hosting the event. Unfortunately my car has firewall mods, which puts me in a category which needs more safety gear etc

Looked like a good bunch of clean racers out there anyway. All looked patient when overtaking and there were no superhero braking duels.

Awww, shucks... :D Thanks! It's a pain to drive on the street though.
Should've come in, we're a friendly bunch.
What mods? They're not really strict on mods, just safety.

Wiley, that's AWESOME! L  L

Wiley those pics are great.
Caught some of my not so great moments there too
But the car stayed together, more or less. Got it home.
Found 2 out of the 3 window strips.
Great day, great fun and great bunch of dudes willing to help out.
Great seeing John and Graeme giving it heaps as the last two cars on the track.
Nice little duel.
Ben you gotta get some semi's man, the potential is in the two just gotta release it so to speak.

EDIT: Not sure if anyone else felt it but did 80k's feels slow on the way home when you've been booting around at 160+kmh all day

Nice pics guys!

Was nice to meet a few new faces and catch up with some familiar ones.

You're right Joey, I need some semi's. The street tyres were definitely holding back my lap times, but not my capacity to have fun! I had a ball.

Was good to see so many nice rotaries out there too, we've got to keep up that rotor presence  Talk about taking over

Oh and who won the consistency challenge? I ended up having to cave for mothers day duties which explains my swift departure, but I was happy to retire the car for the day on a good note.

C'mon, what were the best lap times from each of you? Graeme, did you crack the 1.29's?
