(AusRotary:
Can you get ad07 or ad08in a 205/45R16?

The ADVAN AD07 is currently available in 3 sizes, and luckily the 205/45R16 is one of the Available sizes. The easiest Channel to purchase the AD07 is via Tyres & More as they have next Day Delivery. As for RRP, you’d be look at about $298, however the T&M network can sharpen the pencil on Yokohama.

hey wpn13b

AD08 have supersede the AD07 .

AD08 tyre features are :

- Micro Silica Compound 2 controls heat and feels soft on a micro level, to grip the road, and hard on a macro level to resist deformation, heat and wear.
- Racing tread pattern with continuous tread to increase rigidity.
- Steel sidewall inserts to increase casing rigidity.
- Show to out perform similar extreme sports tyres in cornering, braking and on dry track conditions.
- 8mm tread depth (Unlike a R-spec tyre's 4.5 - 5 mm) and a 180 UTQG Treadwar rating so you can expect resonable tread life.

in saying that the AD08 are only available for 17inch rims and above.

AD07 can still be bought and would be the next pick, but you will have to check with your local dealer for availability.

price for the AD07 in 205/45/r16 expect to pay $270 - $298 each corner.

Ideally suited for Targa type road events, club sprints, lap dash events, and circuit racing.

The entire tread surface of A048 is one continuous block design. it offers far greater rigidity, and results in extra cornering, braking and acceleration potential. The shaped tread surface also provides greater straight line stability and increased levels of steering torque, delivering higher confidence back to the driver.

its also a OEM tyre for the Lotus Exige .

Thanks for the reply John. I actually need to buy one to replace a damaged one (White 17x9.5 +35 offset to suit an FD RX7). I'm finding they are hard to find second hand.. I actually prefer the RGI's, though RGII's are very similar and also very nice.. Anyway if you can find out for me, that will be great.

Advan has come back over the weekend and unfortunately the RG1s are out of production . best bet would be to either keep trying for a 2nd hand one or used them as skidders and go for a set of RGII .

either way good luck man. =)

regards

John.

tyre pressure are one of those how long is a piece of string things.

it all depends on your suspension setup, wheel alignment, vehicles weight, its corner weight + there are way too many variables once you start going out on the track.

you have to consider the track temp , track camber, elevation, etc. every track is different , therefore one setting might not work with another one. All i can suggest is use what the recommended psi is on the sidewalls and once you out on the track and done your first session get out a infra red heat gun and compare the temp from the inside tread vs the middle vs the outside . then change the pressure accordingly + tweak the suspension. what you need to to aim for is an even temp across the tyre's tread surface.

hope that helps .

When will the larger sizes be available in the 050 series. Something larger than the 255"s.

Cheers Jason

I run 205/60R13's on my S2 RX7 race car... I do work the tyres pretty hard, so I prefer to start at 25 psi cold. With my near standard suspension setup I find 31 psi hot gives the best results.

So you might want to start at say 26-27psi cold and check your tyre temps right after your run. At WP you'll probably notice your lefts will run hotter and will need to be let down somewhat... 8)

Hi

Can you tell if Yokohama Australia, bring in a set of tyres if required?
I'm chasing some Advan Y801 slicks in a 14" size, in Europe they sell the sizes I'm after. Sizes are 225/525-14 & 250/525-14.
Any help would be great, as I've contacted Gorden Motorsport, but still waiting a call back from last week.
