Beware of these guys and make sure you ask every single question in writing to them as they will try to put words in your mouth

Say you send your engine to Pac to be torn down, inspected, and quoted... would you expect it back rebuilt if it turned out there was nothing wrong with it?

You cant expect them to rebuild and deliver a gearbox for $30!

They cant inspect it with a stethoscope on a bench...

With this thinking, if it needed a $50 part, you would have a gearbox rebuild for $80, Not going to happen....

Next time ask more questions and don't tarnish there name because you had massive expectations.

so they picked up the gear box, pulled it apart, inspected it all, found nothing wrong, then delivered it back to you(in pieces) all for $30?

The Moral is that people should let you know what they are going to do before its done. I dont expect the world but at least let me know

I would expect them to let me know or give me a range of what it would cost before they pull it apart. Having known about teh product they should be able to let you know where the problems is coming from and how much it will be to fix

They did what any other place will do. Strip, inspect, quote. If you're not happy with their prices, simply take it somewhere else like someone said. It will be a simple re-assemble with some consumables if nothings wrong.

I appreciate everyones opinion though I personally think that you should let the customer know what may or may not happen.

I understand where some of you are coming from but I don't have $$$ to waste and have learnt one thing that you should ask all questions before getting anyone to do work on anything.

Once again thanks for your feedback I probably should have asked what to do on the forum before i took it anywhere.

Cheers
