The best mazda restoration in Greece. Besides chassis ans the roof, tha car is stock original with NOS parts. Unfortunately, for my point of view, the owner installed a 13B.

Mazda RX3 at 25th Acropolis Rally 1978 (C. Torres- ? De Almeida, Portugal)

I ve seen that car in flesh, I even had a quick ride at the co-driver's seat. One of the best automobile related experiences in my life was the big service at the night interval of the rally. Mazda Greece, besides his team, was servicing the car. Great tension when an unsolved problem appeared and the amazing things they did to solve it out (sorry my terminology english dont permit me to describe the problem). Plus 3 official mazda 323 1.3 plus 2 private 323s that night. I was 12 years old, and still remember every minute. Finally the RX3 won the group N, the 3 323s the "manufacturer's cup" and the other 2 did it to the finish line.

One more RX9 with good possibilities to be saved from scrap. I spotted two years before on the road. The lady decided to sell it now. She called me, I called a friend. He went to inspect it, and quite propably gonna buy it for 1500 euros.








From a book dedicated to Acropolis rally history. The 1969 mazda team, three 1200 2-door sedans, all finished and got the "constructor's cup".







Carlos Torres, ath the 1978, 26th Acropolis, 1st at group 1, 11th overall {just released a very detailed replica, my best toy}.

As I got very strong memories from that rally, my father then the mazda greece sales manager got me at the big service night, what a night, the RX3, 3 more 323s from mazda greece, plus 3 more 323s)- I post some pics.
















A mate from Portugal solved me some questions about the car's engine (it was a 10A ported-not ...100% following to the regulations), and sent some photos. Here there are.

Thanks. Not rallying a T600, but the crasiest thing I ve heard of was that at late sixties they tried to create a three wheel F800/F1000 due to taxation reasons. Well, the vehicle did not pass the requirements of the then Greek ministry of transportations, and not a single photo left.

A 1973 RX3 bought some months ago. Matching numbers car but so rusty that I quit the idea of restoring it.




My other RX3 at the pic, a very late 10A car (with a 1600 recipsrosal engine), one of the two RX3s I am going to restore. At the backround my rusty 1974 RX4, initially for restoration, now I parts car.
