i know why they didnt finish the tune.. so i dont need that answered.
The problem i was having is, they said the car was pinging at something like 3psi(give or take 1psi as its been a while), at around 3000-3500rpm.
Im sure he has that map stored somewhere to show you.
To me that is a laugh, as with the same settings/mods, hitman had no trouble tuning it to 17psi.(and even with the old map i came with to unigroup, it never pinged at the old 12psi settings).
They also took for ages to even get to the 3-3.5K rpm range, they just didnt seem profesional and looked like they didnt know what they were doing( they tried sorting it out to no avail.), im sure they will tell you something different that you want to hear.
Why would i give my negative feedback? just for some laughs? i dont think so.I care too much about my car to let some1 tinker with it and not know what they are doing.
Anyway, that is my opinion, but if your happy with them, thats great, thats all what people want, to be happy with the service and job that they're tuners do.
I'm late to the party here, but i figure you need to be thanks for making that post civil, and being mature about everything (in public view, anyway)
Just wanted to put my experience down (not to attack mazman btw)
Took my 32 gtst there.
Was only a simple regapping of the sparkies to get my misfire go away, but the older bloke there knew his shit. I took him for a spin in it, he told me things that were wrong, then when I got a full inspection done by a separate shop everything he said was right.
Only took it to a separate shop to get my pink slip and a service done by my general mechanic.. he did a complete inspection out of curiosity rofl.
I know what Mazman means about their professionalism... My money went to the guys back pocket, and the change came from his wallet. There was no clean office with a 24/7 receptionist.. just a desk and a shit tonne of cars. I went in a group, and we just walked into the shop and started talking to people.
I'll say it felt a lot like a social hang out, and not a business, but that's what I personally like so I was cool with that.
Whilst I'm not trying to undermine the opinion of Mazman, the club president of SAU:NSW was getting them to replace his clutch or something... so they may have picked up a bit from when Mazman has his negative experience.
