A couple of pics of experimental muffler , straight through but even quieter . Could be good for bridge and periphial ports.

:-k Am interested.
What is it that makes it quieter than conventional straight through? Or is that a secret?
Also, can you throw up a pic of yr dual muffler?
Cheers, nick.

What can you do for a FD racecar with a 13B BP turbo?

Since I have gone BP it is twice as loud and I will get pinged at cams events if I dont do something about it.

Cheers
Glenn

Get me some measurements for max length muffler 7" diam. and I can construct a repackable muffler using high temp rockwool as the packer with inox wrapped around perf tube. I have repacked other mufflers (used for circuit racing) with this packer and they have not returned. Most race mufflers are packed with inox ( s.s. wool max temp 790 deg. C) My rockwool 750 deg C with peaks of 800 deg C) Thing is rockwool is a lot quieter than inox.

After something for my 1300 13bt.
Got a T04z with 1.15 and flowing too much for standard muffler to handle.
Need something high flowing and relitvely quiet. It's a stock port so its not too loud but it's a street car so I want it to be as sleeper as possible

Just thought i would post about my experience with AES mufflers. I have a 13b bridgeport turbo in an rx3 and had a basic fibreglass packed resonator and oval muffler in my 3 inch system. I replaced the resonator with an AES resonator that was 100mm longer and only slightly larger in diameter and the difference was enormous. The car is almost as quiet just with the AES resonator as it was with both a resonator and a muffler. I am currently ordering an AES rear muffler and am certain i will be happy with the results. Not only did the AES resonator reduce the noise significantly, but also eliminated some of the raspiness and lowered the tone of the exhaust as well.

Highly Recommended

Picked up one of Kev's 5 inch resonators today, definitely a quality item and Kev is a top bloke, very knowledgable when it comes to exhaust setups

Cheers Kalvin

Just thought I would post to let everyone know I ordered a 3 inch muffler / resonator / dump from Kevin and they rocked up about a week later custom built for my specs. s613bt with all the goodies.

They are tremendous quality and make everything else I have ever used look like shit.

I would go these over rotaflo in a second.

Will post some pics when I get them installed.

Keep up the good work Kev.

I would like a rear muffler for a FD RX7.

If possible, do you have any photos of one fitted?

I require the muffler to be short enough to put a 90deg bend on the end, so I can run another resonator across the back of the car.

For interest, what is your opinion on how loud a 20B BP will be, with long, 2" primaries, into a 400mm long resonator, your rear muffler and another resonator across the back? All will be straight through 3".

Cheers.

While on holidays abroad recently I came across a manufacturer of perforated tubes for mufflers. I imported 10 samples which just arrived. I fitted one to a test muffler. Initial noise tests indicate they are a bit quieter than my existing mufflers. The effort is probably worthwhile. I will complete the tests and that is where I will be heading in the not too distant future. These tubes are high flow.

I started to do noise test yesterday comparing new muffler to present muffler on 13b bridgeport turboed and we had problems with fuel delivery system so to be continued probably on sunday. The experimental muffler was definitely deeper and quieter to the ear. I think it is a step forward. I will have db readings soon .

hi need a muffler for 74' rx4 coupe 13b bridge port. going to put a dumpy on the end of it, its currently cut off before the diff so need a muffler. 2.5in diameter bout 50cm long but if you have done one already could you recommend size. i want something preferably oval to bring the noise down with out restriction.

Just received 3 of Kev's mufflers for my wagon. I must say the construction quality is obvious and I just cannot wait to get them on the car and see how it changes things!!
