Mate Capella is booked in for the 9th of july. Been quoted $3k for external respray in herschel orange. There going to match the engine bay which has been resprayed. Should take about 2 weeks, I'll put some pictures up when its done.

I wouldn't recommend one of the above mentioned Places to do a good job. I have seen some of their recent work and I'm far from impressed. I could easily write up a page on defects caused by poor preparation, poor application and cutting corners. That's even putting aside the fact work wasn't done that was agreed upon and paid for. I was actually going to send one of my cars there to be painted. After seeing their workmanship first hand I have decided they wouldn't be up to the task. It amuses me on how many car painters talk themselves up and make promisses they can't deliver upon.

Everything this bloke said above is correct

Preperation is the key in painting if you pay top dollar for a respray and its not right take it back and tell them to fix it free of charge.

Yeah, they're a breed of their own for the most part, i put it down to too many fumes, and possibly smoking bog dust in a cracky.

It's a shame because I would have sent them plenty of work by referrals from my business. My FD was going in to get a full bare metal respray, If this was not done correctly it would be a disaster. It's not worth taking the risk, I will keep looking as I have no deadline to have it painted.
I think their problem is they take way too much on, they cut corners, skimp on products and rush them out the door. All I can say is, it can't be good for long term business as word of mouth is how small business's survive.

Mr 808, this is the end result of an external respray of my Capella from CDR.

The picture of the Capella looks good but what is it like up close?

The blue 626 rwd and red FC they just painted look good in photos too, pitty they aren't in the flesh. They look good from far but are far from good when you get up close which is a real shame.

My advice to anyone is to see some examples of work in the flesh, photos can make anything look good. I would recommend expressing your expectations and making it clear you won't be paying unless these are met. If they are any good they will agree to your terms.
